Born Olamide Adedeji on March 15, 1989, the rapper is arguably Nigeria’s biggest music act at the moment. He was born in Bariga, a Lagos suburb to parents who are of Ijebu origin in Ogun state.
The multiple award winning act broke into the music industry with his hit debut, Eni Duro which is one of the most successful introductory single from a new act. He was initially signed unto ID Cabassa’s Coded Tunes which had also groomed the likes of 9ice, Lord of Ajasa and many others before him.
His debut album, Rapsodi was released in 2011 and was a favourite of many music fans but the rapper would part with ID Cabassa and his former manager, Toni Payne to start a new movement which was headed by him. The label currently has Lil Kesh, Viktoh, Chinko Ekun,Dj Enimoney as well as producers, Young John and Pheelz.
Olamide’s music is reputed for its street appeal and slang generation which makes him one the musicians with the largest number of loyal fans. His annual Olamide Live in Concert (OLIC) gig is also one of the most attended concerts in this part of the world. From Mushin to Banana Island, Umuahia to Okene, Nigerian rapper, Olamide has no doubt grown to become one of biggest brands on the Nigerian entertainment scene. With numerous awards to his credit including 7 Headies, Channel O Music Video Awards, NEA etc, Olamide is also one of the most successful musicians. He is also an ambassador for Guinness, Etisalat, Ciroc and SureBet.
