Sunny Onuesoke, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to honorably resign from his position due to his age and health.
Onuesoke while celebrating Buhari on his 75th birthday said the president should resign and give way for the younger generation to “takeover.”
Addressing reporters in Abuja, the PDP Chieftain also noted that Buhari could nolonger cope with the rigour of managing the affairs of the country at 75.
He prayed that God would bless Buhari with wisdom and longevity of life.
According to Onuesoke, “God bless our able President. I am wishing him more grace and glory in all that he does and a life filled with laughter, happy memories and unprecedented success.
“I am confident that the years ahead would bring him bright clouds. Long-live President Muhammadu Buhari.
“Nigeria should move from analogue to digital age otherwise progress will continue to elude the country.
“Nigerian youths should select vibrancy and not surrender themselves to “everlasting reincarnations” that will continue to harm the economy and their interests. There is nothing happy about “this day”. Let him go and rest in peace
“Then what else does he want again at 75 than to leave the position honourably for the younger ones to takeover? It is now time for him to play the role of an adviser as an elder statesman, instead of performing the herculean task of Nigeria’s President.
“How many Nigerians still remember their names not to mention birthdays? Unfortunately, the sycophants will all troop and tell the President he’s the best thing that ever happened to Nigeria after independence.
“In all honesty, his birthday calls for sober reflection on his part.”
