Sokoto state government donated a hajj seat and a four bedroom house complex to Super Eagles player, Abdullahl Shehu, who is an indigene of the state.
The state governor, Aminu Tambuwal, announced the donation while receiving Shehu who participated in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia, at the state government House Sokoto.
Governor Tambuwal directed the state commissioner for lands and housing to identify a suitable land to be allocated to Abdullahi shehu for the construction of sports complex to be named after the footballer.
In his remarks, Shehu thanked the state governor for the gifts given to him and also presented a Super Eagles jerseys to the state governor.
According to a statement by Abdullahi Danko, the Media Aide to Governor Tambuwal,
He quoted the governor as saying “We are doing our bit to encourage youths to develop their skills and excel in life like Shehu.”
Tambuwal explained that Sokoto State was proud of him and assured him of the state government’s continuous support and encouragement.
Earlier the Super Eagles’ player, Abdullahi shehu thanked the Governor for his contributions to sports development in the state and assured of total support of youths to his Administration .

Abdullahi while commending the Governor for his efforts at developing the education sector in the state, announced his determination to execute a legacy project in collaboration with philanthropists in sokoto.
The Super eagles player also informed the Governor of their plan to organize a charity football involving Super eagles players in sokoto and called for Government support and assistance.
He also lauded the state Government efforts of tackling the menace of drugs abuse among youths in the state. The Governor was presented with a Jersey by the Super eagles player.
