Ever since fast rising music act, Yonda, born Adeniran Abayomi Adetunji, registered his presence on the Nigerian music scene few months ago with his hit song, Bad Girl Riri, featuring Mayorkun, there has been series of controversies surrounding his alleged recording contract with the Davido-led record label, Davido Music Worldwide.
In a chat with Showtime, Yonda who has proved himself a worthy competition for big acts with two new songs rocking the airwaves, rubbished claims that he did not sign a legal contract with DMW.
“I’m signed to DMW and the label handles all my projects and that’s a fact”, he said.
According to him, he will be forever be indebted to Davido for giving him the rare opportunity to live his dreams.
“I’m going to be forever grateful to Davido for believing in me and for also giving me this huge platform. I’ve been staying humble and I’m going to be humble at all times. I just got myself a new PR and project management team so I believe things will turn out for best.”
Speaking further, he expressed indifference to rumours that without Davido’s support he wouldn’t have come this far.
He said; “No one can get to know God’s plan; I may not be here or may have gone past this level. I always work with God’s time and plan, so let God’s will be done. I’m still a work in progress and I will humble myself any day any time to allow God’s plan fulfill itself.”
