Temitope Adekunle popularly known by his stage name as Small Doctor is a Nigerian indigenous fuji pop singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer and a model. He was born on 19th October 1996 in Ilaje, a small town in Ondo State in the south western part of Nigeria. He is currently 21 years old.
He sings mostly in Yoruba language just like Olamide who sings mostly in Yoruba and Phyno who sings mostly in Igbo. Small Doctor is originally from Ilaje, a small town in Ondo State in the south western part of Nigeria. He attended Aina Orosan Nursery and Primary School in Dopemu, Ondo State in south western part of Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
After completing his nursery and primary school education, Small Doctor proceeded to Oniwaya Secondary School in Dopemu, Ondo State in the south western part of Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing his secondary school education, Small Doctor got admission to study at the University of Lagos but couldn’t complete his studies due to personal reasons. He dropped out from the University of Lagos to pursue his career in music.
He started singing at a very tender age while still in secondary school, precisely in SS1 and started creating incredible mixtapes and freestyles. In 2012, Small Doctor rose to fame after releasing his hit singles like Penalty, Gbagaun, Anobi and Mosquito killer which was produced by an upcoming music producer, Dre San. In 2015, Small Doctor has already become a public figure with most of his fans from the street. During an interview with the media, he stated that his stage name was given to him by his mentor Alhaji Alabi Pasuma, who happens to be the most popular fuji star in Nigerian.
Small Doctor is currently signed to a record label named “RealBeat Planet Entertainment” through which he released his hit singles. During an interview with the media, he stated that he came from a very poor family background and grew up on the street. The main genre of his songs is Fuji Pop. He sings mostly in Yoruba language and his songs are based on street life.
In 2014, he released his debut studio albums “Street Ambassador” with hit singles like Penalty, Gbagaun, Anobi and Mosquito killer. Among those with whom he has worked with include Side One, Dre San, Terry G, Oritse Femi, Olamide, Davido, Ycee, Seriki, Pasuma Wonder, Wizkid and hosts of other top celebrities in Nigeria. Small Doctor in the cause of his career was nominated for Most Promising Act to Watch at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. His song “Penalty” won big at the 2018 Headies Award.
Small Doctor is currently one of the richest and most influential artiste in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $200,000.
