According to the statement released by the Special Adviser, Physical Planning and Development Control to the state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Tpl Waheed Gbadamosi, the building occupied more land than was approved, had a radio mast which was not in the approval issued, toilets, also kitchen were built on the wall of the building and many others.

What You Should Know About The Partial Demolition At The Music House
1. 19th May, 2017, letters demanding for planning approval were sent to various institutions including UCH, Kola Daisi University, University of Ibadan and other institutions and organisatons.
2. 14th June 2017, request for approval was sent to Music House and 22 other radio stations in Oyo State.
3. 18th August 2017, Reminder Letter was sent Music House and the letter was received by Adebisi Akinkunmi.
4. 25th August 2017 A letter was sent to National Broadcasting Commission titled Operation of Radio Stations without Physical Planning permit/Aprroval in Oyo State.
5. November 27, 2017: another letter was sent to NBC complaining about Physical Planning Law and Regulations by the Radio station owners, developers and operators.
6. December 4, 2017: NBC responded that the issue is outside its mandate
7. 14th June 2018: an approved building plan was submitted and BPP& DC discovered that it was meant to be an office complex and not a radio station.
8. June 25th 2018: A joint visit was consequently carried out by the officials of the Bureau with Music House officials.
9. We discovered the following:
a. The building size measured 29.7 metres by 21.6 metres on ground as against the 11.925metres by 10.20metres in the approved survey plan/building plan as submitted by Music House. (Meaning that used up more land than was approved)
b. The building has encroached into the sight distance of the Y junction along Lagelu Estate.
c. Kitchen/canteen is attached to the wall fence
d. Toilets also attached to the wall fence
e. Store is also attached to the wall fence
f. Power house attached to the wall fence
g. Mast erected is not in the plan
h. Spiral Staircase on site is not included in the plan
i. The basement of the plan has been converted to an event centre

10. June 29, 2018: letter was sent to Music house to come and regularize its building plan.
11. Demolition notices were then sent when they failed to respond to the earlier request for the submission of AS – Built Plan for approval

[UPDATED] Oyo Govt counters own lawyer, admits it demolished Ayefele’s Music House.
The Oyo State Government on Monday countered its own layer’s defence that it did not know anything about the Sunday dawn demolition of an N800m structure belonging to the ace musician, Yinka Ayefele.
After several denials, the government on Monday argued that due process was followed in the demolition of the Music House belonging to the popular musician.
It also said that no court order restrained it from carrying out its “statutory role in the public interest.”
Denying culpability in the demolition, the state government, through its counsel, Mr. Yomi Alliyu, had told Justice Iyabo Yerima of the State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, on Monday, that it was preparing to institute a panel of inquiry to unravel the identity of those who razed the N800m edifice.
However, late Monday evening, the Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Physical Planning and Development Control, Mr. Waheed Gbadamosi, claimed at a press conference in Ibadan that government gave ample opportunity for Music House to regularise its building plan.
He further said Ayefele was duly informed through several correspondences, adding that the action of the government to demolish the building was not politically motivated.
Gbadamosi said that it was established during a visit to the building that it encroached into the sight distance of the Y Junction along Lagelu Estate, stressing that a canteen, toilets, store, and powerhouse, which were not in the plan submitted, were attached to the wall fence.
He added that the mast erected and staircase on site were not included in the plan submitted, noting that the basement of the plan which was meant for car park had also been converted.
Gbadamosi said that a letter was sent to Music House on June 29, 2018, to submit a fresh building plan application that will reflect the existing structures on site and regularise the anomalies.
He alleged that the radio house deliberately ignored the letter until the demolition notices were sent on August 13, 2018, based on the earlier request for the submission of AS-Built Plan for approval
Gbadamosi reiterated that government’s action was not based on sentiments or a witch-hunt, saying contravention notices had been served to different organisations in the state since June 14, 2017.
He insisted that the building plan from Music House deviated from the approved plan, adding, “this made the approval null and void because a deceitful information was given to the approving authority.”
