Zinedine Zidane has revealed he expects to return to coaching soon – as he is linked with the Manchester United job. The French boss scooped a third straight Champions League title before quitting Real Madrid this summer.
And Zidane, 46, wants to return to the dugout to continue a brilliant start as a manager.
While watching his son Elyaz, 12, in action, he told TVE: “I am sure that I will coach again before long.
“This is what I like and what I have done all my life.”
Zidane is reportedly compiling a list of transfer targets in case he is approached by United.
Both Jose Mourinho and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward insist their relationship is strong despite feuds over the summer transfer window.
But with continuing uncertainty at Old Trafford, Zidane is keeping himself ready.
As well as his three European triumphs, the highly-rated boss won one La Liga crown, two Uefa Super Cups and two Fifa Club World Cups after replacing Rafael Benitez in January 2016.
And it is unlikely he will be out of work for long as football’s elite clubs try and land his signature.
