But In an unfortunate turn of events, it appeared the elections were cancelled statewide. It was revealed that some unscrupulous persons were trying to hijack the elections hence the decision to have it cancelled.

A statement released by the APC’s AG National Publicity Secretary, Mr Yekini Nabena condemned the elections claiming it was conducted by unauthorized persons.
Meanwhile the state governor, Godwin Obaseki had issued a Congratulatory message to all the winners he said emerges from the exercise which reports from the state adjudged as peaceful.
Prince Odi Okojie, for example, had reportedly won the hearts of many citizens of the state after they came out en masse to vote for him.
There is no new date for a repeat of the elections yet.
