EFCC is set to arraign the immediate-past Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, for an alleged fraud of N2.2bn. The anti-graft agency conveyed the ex-governor to the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, in a white bus manned by heavy security Monday morning.
The court is expected to sit at 9am.
Fayose was brought to court straight from the EFCC custody, where he had been detained since last week when he submitted himself to the anti-graft agency, shortly after the expiration of his immunity from prosecution.
Already, the charges are being read to him before Justice Mojisola Olatoregun.
Fayose is being defended by a former Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN).
Agabi was also counseled for the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, when he was tried before the Code of Conduct Tribunal for alleged false asset declaration.
