A 7-month-old baby who was stolen in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital, has been recovered.
According to reports, the baby was allegedly stolen by a woman on Monday morning who vanished into thin air after the act and was later tracked down in the night after a manhunt was launched.
The woman was first taken to the Rivers government house security to avoid being lynched after she was captured and was later handed over to the police for further interrogation.

“Following our earlier report of a missing seven months old baby boy that was taken away from No 77 Akwuzo street, Mile 1 Diobu at about 9.45am today”.
“We swung into action by immediately activating all our contacts across Rivers State into an urgent search with the only information at hand being the lady who took away the baby’s phone number we got from a person who she called the phone with earlier, and we put a call through to the number but to no avail, at that point it became worrisome and we instructed that matter should be incidented with the police while we applied available technology and software at our disposal which eventually paid up SAT 213 tracker that was able to locate the the girls phone when we eventually called and she picked her but immediately switched back off”.
“As we write we were able get the woman and the missing 7months old baby back around Eleme junction and we took them to the Government House Security just to avoid the lady being lynched to death if we take her to Diobu, after reporting the incident there a call was put to Mile one police station and the matter handed over to them for further investigation”.
“We sincerely wish to thank all those who on getting the information acted by spreading the news that helped in increased pressured to help us locate the missing child and the lady”.
