Wole Soyinka is, no doubt, one of Nigeria’s prodigious personalities. The playwright, political commentator and literary giant has lifted up the mantle of the nation in such a way that no one ever has. One thing that distinguishes the literati apart is his flourishing white hair whose grey glory has never ceased to amaze many.
However, Wole Soyinka has taken to proving that he was not always like he is now. He was not always a white-haired man whose ‘grey areas’ bespoke knowledge, wisdom and a rugged sort of experience.
As a matter of fact, there was a time when the playwright who is internationally recognized had only black hair. At that time, he was young, sprightly, exuberant but still full of the knowledge that he presently embodies.
Wole, who must have been reflecting on the days of his youth, shared a picture of his much younger self that dates way back to 1973. In the picture, the young Wole was wearing a thick jacket and keeping a nice pop of Afro.

This beautiful, glorious image of the political commentator who is known to address pressing issues bordering on affairs of the state was complemented with a caption which reads thus:

Wole has no doubt inspired his world with his words, ways and works. Although his achievements have been fully mirrored in books and documentaries, not many have talked about his love life which is also as legendary as his entire existence.
