The police has arrested suspected killers of a young man identified as Diyelaemi Ben-Walson, who was brutally murdered along LaGold Street, Opposite Ekeki police station in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state, last Monday evening.
It was gathered that the deceased, a final year Student of the Niger Delta University in Bayelsa, was jogging in the early hours of Monday when a policeman who was going out saw three other boys pushing 2 generators in a wheelbarrow.
According to Mienpamo Onitsha Saint, the police stopped them and asked them where they were going to with the generator sets. They told the officer they were carrying the generators to a friend’s house named Victor in the area.
The police officer then stopped the deceased who was jogging and asked him whether he knew the three men. He reportedly replied that he only knows them as Victor’s friends who usually visit his place. The policemen allowed the men to go.
It was gathered that in the evening of the same day, Victor came to Diyelaemi’s house with his killers and ask him to follow them. He followed them with the intention that maybe they wanted to inquire something from him.
They took him to the LaGold road, pushed him inside a gutter and shot him to death since he was the only one who could identify them..
With the help of the police, Mr. Victor was arrested with his girlfriend while hiding in her room along Azikoro road in Bayelsa. While the three others were arrested at Opolo Town hall Junction.
