Music star Davido is not joking about the 2019 election as he, without fainting, campaigned for candidates of his choice publicly. He has shown he is a concerned citizen who cares about the state of the country.
The singer who claimed he has candidates he is supporting across the different political parties is an ardent supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
And Saturday, February 23, being the presidential election day, the singer stayed glued to his social media handles as he monitored happenings across the country. Davido also asked his followers to share the situation of the election process in their area. He in turn tweet the reports while tagging the Nigeria Police and the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC)
As early as 10am, Davido urged people to go out and vote.
Showtime!!! Everyone go out and vote!!! Be safe! Be vigilant! They can't do anything to you ! Your vote is all the power you need!

Everyone go out! A lot of units stared late but as far as you're in the queue before 2pm they can't tell you anything! Your vote go count! Whether na 10pm them ready! All man must vote!
— Davido (@davido) February 23, 2019
Also seeing news that people are losing chances to vote because their names are not at the polling units. Pls follow up! Your name might just be in the wrong unit nearby. You still have the right to vote! Long as you turn up before 2pm and they can't tell you nothing!
— Davido (@davido) February 23, 2019
He also urged the election umpire to pay attention to issues raised on his Twitter handle.
INEC pls pay attention to all these issues! Everybody must be allowed to vote! @inecnigeria
