With the degree of campaign that Davido has conducted per the elections, it is extremely surprising that the singer is likely out of the country as Nigerians go to the polls.
His last Instagram post from just 17 hours ago was geo-tagged Johannesburg, South Africa. It takes about 6 hours to travel by air from South Africa to Lagos so the chances that Davido made it back to Lagos are slim especially because the Federal government declared a curfew between 6 AM – 6 PM today.
Seven months ago, in a manner that has never been exhibited by a Nigerian contemporary artiste, pop star Davido began to make political explorations by means of campaigning for his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke who was vying for the seat of the Governor in Osun state.
His involvement with the political scene heightened as the ongoing general elections drew closer. Davido campaigned vigorously for the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar. He also launched a campaign dubbed “Defend Your Vote”. As the title suggests, with this campaign, the pop star encouraged Nigerians to not only vote, but also stay back until the ballots are counted.
Several of his colleagues have been spotted at different polling units across the country, but so far, Davido is a no-show. The singer is, however, lending his voice via Twitter.

Also seeing news that people are losing chances to vote because their names are not at the polling units. Pls follow up! Your name might just be in the wrong unit nearby. You still have the right to vote! Long as you turn up before 2pm and they can't tell you nothing!
