For the first time ever, Top Nigerian gentlemen 2018 have been compiled in one list. We do need to appreciate and recognize these men, who have, over the years, shown what it’s like, and defined what it is to be a true gentleman. They have been superb role models to countless young men all over the world.
But when you hear the word ‘gentleman’, what comes to mind? A man in a suit and tie? Probably, but certainly, there’s more to being a gentleman. Can it simply be a calm man – a man who is reserved, and in control of his emotions?
Before we delve into the list, let’s firstly look at the points we considered in picking these men – to be as objective as we can, in something, frankly, quite subjective.
1. Chivalry – good manners, courteous, especially towards women.
2. Style – clean, always neat in appearance, with personal definition of style.
3. Honor – having integrity, keeping to your word.
4. Goal oriented – focused and ambitious. Not accepting failure/mediocrity.
5. Sensitivity – showing empathy and consideration for other people’s feelings.
6. Self-Confidence – knowing your worth and then, reaching for your best.
7. Respect – holding everyone to a certain level of regard and recognition.
8. Nobleness – trustworthy and honest.
9. Decency – not overly loud and vulgar, having good moral values.
10. Humility – not proud, arrogant, blowing your own horn. A gentleman let’s his work and achievements speak for themselves.

Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu is an Okija, Anambra state indigene, Born in Benin City, Edo state. In 2006, Ebuka went in as a housemate for the maiden edition for Big Brother Nigeria. He was Born in a small community in Warri, Delta state. Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, studied Theatre Arts at the University of Benin, got a job as a reporter in one of the leading newspapers of the time, before deciding to explore his talent in acting.He is also a graduate of Law from the University of Lagos, former commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta state, writer, producer and brand ambassador for notable brands in the country. 3. Igee Okafor
Igee Okafor is the kind of guy your favourite male celebrities draw style inspiration from. The style influencer and blogger was described in an article on the guardian as a New Yorker with style, even though we claim him fully, here in Nigeria – hell no, are we letting him go. Igee is currently based in New York even though he was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria.With his style and looks so easy on the eye and a classy personality to match, it’s clear why he made this list. 4. Ohimai Atafo
Ohimai Atafo is the creative director of multiple award winning Nigerian classy bespoke fashion brand, “Mai Atafo”. Originally from Edo state, Nigeria, he was born in Osun state. He graduated from the Edo state University Epkoma, he further got his Master’s degree from City University London. He got back to Nigeria in 2002 and worked in corporate positions like marketing and brand management for Big brands like British American Tobacco and Guinness Nigeria. He left his high paying job to pursue his dream and career in fashion and ever since, has been making waves in the industry, both locally and internationally.
5. Denola Grey
Media presenter, actor, and fashion consultant, Denola Grey is at the fore in men’s fashion in Nigeria, and has been for the past few years. Working closely with Orange Culture Nigeria @orangecultureng and a brand ambassador for LFDW, he has sealed his position as an authority in everything fashion.

7. Adekunle Gold
Born to the Royal Kosoko family of Lagos, Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, is a multi-talented gentleman who reveals sophistication, acumen, alongside thoroughness in his vocals, song writing and graphics designing. Starting music at a very young age helped distinctly improve his vocals and song writing skills. His cover of One Direction’s “story of my life” titled “sade” brought AG to the spotlight after being nominated at the Headies. 19. Naeto C
Naetochukwu Chikwe, stage name Naeto C, is a Nigerian rapper, Afrobeat artist and record producer. Naeto C has recorded over 50 songs including his debut albums. Once an active member of the US Marines, Oluwatobi Adeshina Onibatedo, popularly known as Mama Tobi has made a name for himself in the ever growing Nigerian comedy industry His comedy career didn’t start off with skits. Oluwatobi is really on a role; a comedian, a US marine, and currently studying to get a postgraduate degree in business and technology management. 24. Femi Otedola
He was only the second Nigerian, after Dangote, to be included on the Forbes list of dollar-denominated billionaires with an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion and ranked 1011st richest person in the world when Forbes published its annual rich list in March 2016. Besides being one of the richest men in the world, Femi Otedola is also one of Nigeria’s ultimate gentlemen. He always wears a huge smile, as is evident in all the pictures he takes, as well as those he grants fans and admirers. He is a huge fan of his daughter, DJ Cuppy, and constantly pushes her music via his social media platforms.
25. Bryan Okwara
Bryan Okwara is a Nigerian actor and pageant contestant, who won the title of Mr. Nigeria in 2007, and reached the semi-finals in the Mister World 2007 competition. Bryan is popular for Celebrity Takes 2, Finding Love’ True Citizens’, I will Take My Chances’, Weekend Gateaway’, In the Music’, Awakening and others. Tall, elegant, and cool-headed, Felix looks like something out of a Spartan war movie – with a broad chest, chiseled jaw lines, and a razor-cut beard. He’s also got the perfect attitude to go with it – always humble, and with a smile, warming up to those around him. 30. Runtown
Douglas Jack Agu, better known by his stage name Runtown, is a renowned singer, songwriter, and producer. In 2014 he released “Gallardo”, with Davido, which was basically the song that brought him to the limelight, and was his first single off his debut studio album Ghetto University. Gallardo went on to win “Best Collaboration of the Year” at the 2014 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Easily one of the most stylish Nigerian musicians, runtown has set himself apart from the rest in how he constantly shows up looking like he’s on the red carpet. He carries himself with such panache – smooth, soft-spoken, but knows what exactly he wants, and goes for it. On 4 November 2016, Runtown released the ballad “Mad Over You”, which charted at number 38 on the Billboard Twitter Top Tracks chart.
31. Anthony Joshua
Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua, is a British professional boxer. He is currently a unified world heavyweight champion, holding three of the four major championships in the sport. He ventured into boxing out of boredom as he was only looking to becoming a builder though he was bricklayer at that time before his cousin, Ben Ileyemi, who is a fellow unbeaten professional boxer dragged him to Finchley Amateur Boxing Club back in 2007. Alex Ekubo-Okwaraeke is a popular actor and model. He was first runner up at the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest. 35. Kunle Afolayan
Kunle Afolayan is no doubt, Nollywood royalty. He’s the first son of veteran movie producer Ade Love. Kunle started working as a banker when he started minor acting before he went into the industry full time as a director, producer and actor. Kunle’s films form a majority of the most critically acclaimed of contemporary Nigerian movies. Besides being a talented filmmaker and actor, Mr. Afolayan has a great sense of style, and is one pristine gentleman. Always looking edgy and noteworthy on red carpets, on set, and even at home, he has taken that sense of style and keen fashion sense, and started his own clothing line, with an urban twist to native attire.
36. Wale Ojo
Wale Ojo is a top Nigerian actor, with an enviable gentleman persona. He started as a child actor in television, and continued acting roles in the UK and Nigeria subsequently. Eventually became a full-blown, successful actor, staring in a number of highly successful movies including Phone Swap by Kunle Afolayan. Finally came into prominence in 1995 for his role in The Hard Case, and won the award for Best Actor at the 2012 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. During his stay in the Big Brother house, Uti was known for often teasing his fellow housemates, being the life of the party, whilst respecting every housemate. He is a native of Ndokwa, Delta State. Tall, dark, and elegant, Uti is friends with some other gentlemen such as Alex Ekubo and IK Ogbonna, who seemed to have formed a gentlemen’s club, and quite a number of people love their bromance. Leo Dasilva rose to fame after participating in the 2018 edition of Big Brother Nigeria. Arguably one of the smartest housemates in the Big Brother house, Leo was known to be a real gentleman from the very first day. A young professional, he is the MD of Big Figure Small World Limited, Admiralty Estate Lekki. At age 17, he founded SODZ Entertainment in England. He later replicated same in the U.S. Leo, as a result of his cool-headedness, managed to stay away from drama, in a house that thrived on drama. The Bayelsa State-born actor ventured on a personal quest to hone his acting skills. After several auditions, he landed a role in the long running Mnet’s TV series, Tinsel as Dozie, and ever since, his face has been a staple choice for directors. Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr, popularly known as Ramsey Nouah, is a household name in Nigeria, starring in a staggering 100+ movies, winning numerous awards along the way. Ramsey Nouah is known for his numerous romantic flicks, which made his fans to give him the title “Lover-Boy”. 41. Alex Iwobi

John Ighodaro, better known as Johnny Drille is a folk/alternative singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer. He was brought up in a conservative home, which made him appreciate certain principles and values that make him the gentleman he is today. He started out music from his father’s Church at a very early age.In January 2015, he released his cover version of Di’ja’s ‘Awww’ which caught Don Jazzy’s attention. 43. Donald Duke
Mr Donald Duke is a political leader, former Governor of Cross River state and one suave gentleman! The soft spoken Mr. Donald has a Law degree from Ahmadu Bello University and a Master’s degree in Business Law and admiralty from the University of Pennsylvania.
