Things have taken a good turn for one of the foremost record labels in the Nigerian music industry as one of the co-founders shared exciting news about the label’s latest move.
Chocolate City co-founder, Audu Maikori, recently took to his Instagram page with the news of the partnership deal between international music company, Warner Music Group (WMG), and the Nigerian record label.
In a release he shared, it was disclosed that the partnership follows a need to grow the reach of African artists and create exciting new opportunities for superstars that are already in the region. This means music from these artistes will join Warner Music’s repertoire and receive the company’s wide ranging global expertise, including distribution and artist services.
It was also noted that the record label will continue to be led by the Nigerian team consisting of co-founders, Audu Maikori and Paul Okeugo, and EVP of Imprints, Jude Abaga and EVP of Recorded Music, Aibee Abidoye.
