"You know I’m not savage, I dey pay my bills" Seyi Shay allegedly shades Tiwa Savage

Over the past couple of days, social media has been flooded with various entries from several Nigerian artistes who have taken turns to participate in the viral music challenge by singer Kizz Daniel.

A number of music acts like Vector, Chinko Ekun, Dremo, Simi, Tiwa Savage and a host of some others, have shared their entries on their respective social media pages, and there is no doubt that, surely, talent is surplus in the Nigerian music industry.

Sensational singer Singer Seyi Shay has now hopped on the train of the trending music challenge as she recently took to her Instagram page with her own version.

As expected, the singing sensation comes through with her version, but we cannot help but notice some lines in her rendition that appears as if she may be throwing a shade at her colleague, Tiwa Savage.

The singer’s lyric goes thus: “You know I’m not Savage, I pay my bills.”

In the second string of lyrics that followed, she added that her name could never come up in the debtors list that is set to be released by a popular Lagos club known as Escape.

“You no go find my name for the Escape o” she sang.

Some fans suggested at it was a shade directed at Tiwa in the comment section. See some reactions below:

Oluwamiki: I no b Savage but I dey pay my bills

Thobby_paul: Black people always shading themselves, this black race is full of hate

Mosesvibes: She fired shots at @tiwasavage oh no ‍♂️

Whyt_ink: I know I heard I’m not Savage, I dey pay my bills. You no go see my name for escape. That’s why they frustrate their hubby. She is clearly shading Savage.

Other fans also submitted that the lines were not in anyway directed at Tiwa Savage.

Jenniferiorwuese_: @realkingrex pls listen to the lyrics very well, she is not shading tiwa…….world people.hmmmm

Qwiin_mimie: It’s lyrics/rhymes y’ll take things too seriouss and personal‍♀️ not good for yur health though……

Fabulous4827: Why e be say na fans day always day start d beefing what about kizzdaniel dat mentioned guys name? Biko it’s just song seyishay is not shading anyone

Although it cannot be said for sure that she was taking a jab at Tiwa, it is also not uncommon for singers in the same industry to occasionally throw shades at each other.
