A man has finally passed away days after he stabbed his girlfriend to death and hid her body under the bed. After the murder, the 41-year-old man identified as Thabiso Hlabahlaba, then swallowed four packets of rat poison and downed it with gin.
He sat in the house in Dikeledi in Centurion, Gauteng area of South Africa waiting to die before the police arrived and took him to hospital last Thursday, but he died two days later.
Thabiso’s sister, Dikeledi (31) said when they asked him where his girlfriend Khethiwe Mosoeu (33) was, he said she went to the shops. Dikeledi said they were surprised he’d bought a bottle of gin and drunk it all.
“He was not a drinking person and we became suspicious,” she said. She said they went to the apartment he shared with Khethiwe.
“We broke the window. There was blood on the curtain and we saw her legs sticking out under the bed.”“We still wonder why Thabiso did this. It’s a pity he’s also dead and won’t tell us why he did it,” she said.
Captain Solomon Sibiya confirmed that Thabiso took poison. He said cases of murder and suicide were opened.
