Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, has allegedly concluded plans to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Accord party for the November governorship election in the state.
Although the Accord Party was his alternative party in 2015 when he lost the APC governorship primary to late Prince Abubakar Audu, he was eventually nominated to take the place of Audu in the supplementary election.
According to reports, the state governor had reportedly informed some of his close allies, that some of the aides of President Buhari had advised him to seek the governorship ticket from another party since the leadership of the party in the state are unwilling to hand him a second term ticket.
The national secretariat of the APC has so far received over 10 petitions submitted by individuals, various groups and also within the party demanding that the party should not give Bello a ticket for a second term.
