The vehicle conveying Ogwu James Onoja (SAN) and their police escort was shot at severally by suspected assailants at Bassa, along SHINTAKU -Lokoja-road.

This is coming after an alleged threat to his life and kidnap by a prominent politician in kogi, and a petition written to the Inspector General of Police by the legal icon, on the 8th of April, to address his security situation while visiting the state.

Ogwu James Onoja aside the petition addressed to the police top heirachy, was also advised via sms by a good samaritan, of a concluded arrangement to exterminate the life of the legal guru, over flimsy political issues not to his knowledge.

Onoja’s wife according to police was hurt and wounded by the gunshots at the vehicle conveying the wife, while they scamper for safety of their lives to Anyigba to lodge a formal complain to the local government police command, turned down by the area commander for mere lack of jurisdiction, without recourse to his colleague battered by gunshots.

Mrs Onoja was left with no choice than to run for cover with the bullet ridden car to an unknown destination, rather than heed to the advise of the police command in Anyigba to return to the place of incidence.

James Onoja,a career legal practitioner, had no any form of alliance or association with the political class of any sort, either at the state or national level ,but was involved in series of communal activities to better the welfare of its people and immediate community as a stakehokder.

The activities of hired thugs, kidnappers, manslaught, murderers and hired assassins orchestrated by top governmemt officials in kogi, had been the other of the day,as recently a known media blogger and social crusader,Austin Okai accused the state government of attempt to use special anti robbery squad of the police(SARS), to frame and kill him of crime and criminally related activities.
