African singing sensation, Davido, shared words of encouragement and support to South Africa’s Julius Malema and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) ahead of the 2019 national elections in the country, which takes place this Wednesday, May 8.
With only few days away before South Africans cast their vote for the 2019 South African national elections, many international influencers are weighing in the subject with their preferences at heart.
Singer, Davido, is one of them, as he has shown his support for his ‘brother from another mother’, Julius Malema.
Davido took to his Instagram account with a message for his favourite politician, Julius Malema, and his political party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Davido also shared the exact message on his Twitter account.

“Good luck On the 8th of May Sir !! We will all know you will make a great leader!! To my brothers and sisters in South Africa, be safe as you go out and make your choice.❤️❤️ #VoteEFF #MALEMA.”
According to The South African, Julius Malema responded to Davido’s tweet and wrote: “Thank you very much my brother.”

Local musicians, performers and artists have also added their political voices into the mix. Dj Shimza is standing tall for the African National Congress (ANC).
While the EFF has previously shunned connections to the entertainment world, and lambasting other political parties who have performers supporting them, they do have the support of actor Fana Mokoena and Kenny Kunene.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) also had some healthy support at a launch party in 2018 with performances by Riky Rick, producer Sketchy Bongo, Destruction Boyz and Afrikaans singer, Kurt Darren.
One person who responded to Davido’s comment even mentioned with a hilarious meme that after hearing about Nigerian singer, Davido supporting the EFF, that Ramaphosa is on his way to ask Beyoncé to post about the ANC.
