It was earlier reported that Up-and-coming artistes, Afeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Temidayo Omoniyi (aka Zlatan), who were arrested on Friday morning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in connection with alleged cases of internet fraud and money laundering were released shortly after their arrest.
Series of videos posted by the suspected fraudsters on their social media handles after the news of their alleged release made many of their Fans to believed that they have been released by the anti-graft commission.
However, The EFCC’s acting Head, Media and Publicity, Tony Orilade, in an interview with PUNCHng, confirmed that the artistes had not been released.
Orilade said:
“They are still with us as we are talking.”
Asked if the singers would spend the weekend in custody, he said:
They are still with us. When they are released, I will let you know.
Meanwhile, Ruggedman who recently had rift with Naira Marley for supporting ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ has reacted to his arrest. According to the Rapper, the anti-graft agency has passed a message to the populace that they are watching and monitoring.
