Ghanaian dancehall singer, Shatta Wale has taken a blood oath by cutting himself and swearing never to have anything to do with Ghana Music Awards again.
His declaration is coming just days after he and rival dancehall singer Stonebwoy had an altercation at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
When Stonebwoy was announced as artiste of the year, Shatta Wale and his crew walked up to the stage to congratulate him. Their gesture was mistaken for a confrontation by Stonebwoy and crew resulting in some pushing and sholving before Stonebwoy pulled a gun out and threatened to shoot Shatta Wale.
Both men were arrested and locked up before they were presented at a court where the hearing got adjourned for a later date. After both men got released on bail, Shatta Wale took to social media with a picture showing his pierced and bleeding palm.
He wrote:
Upon sober reflections of events in recent times and having made broader consultations, I wish to announce that I will not be part of the Ghana Music Awards scheme going forward. God bless!
