Thousands of Liverpool fans took to the streets on Sunday as the club went on a trophy parade after emerging winners of the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool emerged Champions by defeating fellow English side Tottenham. A spot kick in the second minute of the game gave Liverpool an early lead. The kick was converted by Mohamed Salah.
Tottenham did all they could as they kept on asking questions with their ball possession. However, an 87th minute strike from Origi sealed the game for Liverpool who were defeated 3-1 by Real Madrid in last year’s final.
The trophy makes it Liverpool’s sixth, three more than Manchester United who have won it thrice.
Manager Jurgen Klopp became the fifth German manager to win the European Cup, after Dettmar Cramer, Jupp Heynckes, Ottmar Hitzfeld and Udo Lattek. He’s however only the second German to win the trophy with a non-German side (Heynckes with Real Madrid).
