The songstress often called ‘Mama Africa’ by her fans, undoubtedly, has established herself as a force to reckon with in Africa and she’s definitely not in a hast to fully break into the American or European market like some of her peers in the music industry.
Yemi Alade, since dropping ‘Johnny’, has been unstoppable, yet she believes she has a lot to learn. ‘Johnny’s success was a milestone for me and it is also a reminder that I need to do more. Life is a marathon and not a sprint; I’m a strong believer of setting and smashing goals. I’m still very much on the process. There is more to learn and more to conquer”, she said to Showtime.
Continuing, the Effizie Music Group lead act noted that winning has always been the force driving her, “My driving force all these years has been a winning mindset, I always want to win. And I’m thankful for the people around me, for always motivating me.”
Yemi Alade just released her new single, ‘Bounce’ about 24 hours ago, the groovey track was produced by Egar Boi. Before her latest release, the energetic performer collaborated with American rapper Rick Ross on the remix of ‘Oh My Gosh’, this collaboration exposed her to the American audience and got her more respect in the continent – Africa, she represents.
Yemi Alade’s fourth studio album, ‘Woman Of Steel’ is expected to arrive later this year. The album is projected to have major songs featuring veteran actress Funke Akindele, Grammy Award winner Angélique Kidjo, and Duncan Mighty.
