Legendary reggae singer Majek Fashek has expressed his annoyance for popular lifestyle and music television channel, SoundCity, for not airing his music videos.
The ‘Send Down The Rain’ musician feels disrespected by the TV station for not approving two of his music videos ‘Akugbe’ and ‘Hey Rastaman’ for airplays and referring to them as low quality visuals.
Majek Fashek decided to call out the management of the media house headed by entertainment mogul, Tajuddeen Adepetu, on social media. The renowned musician recorded a video lambasting the television station and explained that the videos they rejected were of high qualities, shot in Atlanta, United States and Canary Walf in England.
“Its a BIG shame that Soundcity and their boss Tajudeen Adepetu have chosen to ignore good music from a LEGEND like MAjek Fashek,” he captioned the call-out video shared on his official instagram page.
Continuing, he said; “The video AKUGBE by Majek Fashek short in Atlanta Georgia and HEY RASTAMAN was short in Canary Warlf in England
“All on YouTube to see if it’s not quality enough. How dare you say Majek Fashek’s music video is not ‘quality’ enough to be played on Soundcity? Yet you play all these “Yahoo Yahoo’ videos with naked girl and stuff?
“Where is the place for history and honouring our legends? Shame on YOU!!! Omenka Uzoma Day.”
As at the time of Within Nigeria’s report, SoundCity TV’s management was yet to respond to Majek Fashek’s social media outpour.
