Undoubtedly, many Nigerians will remember the month of June/July 2019 for the drama it brought and the active social media birthed.
It is probably why Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi has concluded that being a woman in Nigeria is very tough and her statement is coming after two major incidents have shown how women are treated in this part of the world.
Recall that a pastor was alleged to have molested a minor some 20 years ago and a Nigerian senator was recently caught on tape assaulting a nursing mother.
It might be correct to say Etomi has been following all the drama and is now sure that the Nigerian society is designed to make life particularly difficult for its women.
Although Adesua didn’t go into details of why and how she had come to the conclusion, given her recent posts, it is clear that the ivory actress is tired of hearing of women being abused by Nigerian men and worse, getting away with it.
Being a woman is hard enough but being a woman in Nigeria is unbelievably harder. Sigh!

Because we face attacks not just from the male gender and the patriarchal society but from fellow women who should be a support system

Being a woman could officially be declared a disability. Add "race" and "social class" to the equation and you'd find us competing with animals for a place at the periphery.

Even if all men pack up and go to another planet, women will still find a way to link their problems to men. The problem is general. It's not easy being a Nigerian for a regular human not only women.
