Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, has called for calm following the abduction of four Turkish expatriates on Saturday in the Edu Local Government Area of the state.
He made the appeal Sunday, in a statement by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye.
According to the statement,” the governor is working closely with the security agencies to ensure prompt rescue of the abducted expatriates.
“The governor urges the people to go about their lawful businesses and not to entertain any fear as doing so may embolden the criminals behind the development”, the statement added.
Already, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun has deployed a team under the operation Puff Adder to rescue the abducted Turkish expatriates and arrest the masterminds, according to the police image maker, Mr Ajayi Okasanmi.
