Multiple award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly called by his stage name, Burna Boy has released his highly anticipated new album, ‘African Giant’, after so much hype across all media platforms in his home country and abroad.
Since Burna Boy unveiled the title of the album to be ‘African Giant’, it became very obvious that the afro-fusion was planning to take over the continent with his vibrancy and stunning art. The album, which has been on pre-order for over a month was officially released for purchase on music stores worldwide on February 26, 2019.
‘African Giant’ is a compilation of 19 incredible songs featuring iconic musicians in Africa like America and UK. Legendary Beninese-American singer-songwriter, actress, activist and Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo; American rappers Future and YG; veteran singer Jeremih, English singer-songwriter, Jorja Smith; Jamaican musicians, Serani and Damian Marley; Ghanaian rap sensation, M.anifest and Nigerian street wordsmith, Zlatan Ibile, contributed to the awesomeness of the album.
Burna Boy comes out creatively on the album, delivered his best album yet and laced the whole work up with impressive storytelling ability, which has always been one of his unique selling points in the Nigerian music industry. Without doubt, Burna Boy’s latest project will open more doors for him in his home country and abroad.
Prior to the release of the body of work, Burna Boy gave his fans ground breaking singles, ‘Dangote’, ‘Pull Up’, ‘Killin’ Dem’ and ‘Anybody’ to serve as ‘John The Baptist for the coming of the Jesus’, ‘African Giant’ to take over the music industry.
To up the anticipation of the album, Burna Boy who already won the BET Award for ‘Best International Act’ and shutdown Coachella festival, appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to deliver fantastic performance of ‘Anybody’, also emerged the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the American TV Show.
