Tragedy struck Edo community as flood swept 13-year-old pupil

Tragedy struck in Edo state as flood swept away a 13-year-old pupil, Egbadon Overcomer.

Egbadon Overcomer, a primary 3 pupil of the Idumu Ague Primary School in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State .

Eyewitnesses said the area was flooded as a result of the rain.

The deceased ’s body was recovered by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps .

The Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Joan Oviawe, said she had deployed field officers in the area to unravel the circumstances of the pupil ’ s death.

She stated , “ The Edo State Universal Basic Education Board regrets to announce the unfortunate death of Egbadon Overcome , a 13 – year – old primary 3 pupil of the Idumu Ague Primary School in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State .

“ We commiserate with the child’ s parents, the management of the Idumu Ague Primary School and the community over the sad incident . We will ensure that the incident is thoroughly investigated and work towards ensuring that such does not happen in the future .”
