Brymo Crowns Self Greatest Singer Alive… Here’s What Fans Think

Nigerian singer Brymo has, in a social media post over the weekend, conferred the status of greatest singer alive on himself.

Brymo is known for having creative approaches towards music, matchless writing skills and highly-impressive deliveries in singing and performing on stage.

The singer over the years has remained in a space of his own, without any visible competition coming his way. Despite his abilities, many have agreed that Brymo is one of the most underrated Nigerian musicians in the industry.

On Sunday, July 28, 2019, the singer declared himself the greatest artiste alive — again, as he boldly stated that  other (Nigerian) musicians follow his lead. “The greatest alive, your faves still have to write better, sing better and perform better than me,” Brymo’s tweet read in part.

Recall, in 2018, the singer on his birthday, caused controversy on the social media platform, when he said he was the greatest artiste of his time, which many of his social media followers argued with him.

In his recent confirmation tweet, which also served as a reminder that Brymo is still holding tight to his self-proclaimed ‘greatest singer’ status, this time, majority of his followers agreed with the singer without objection.

The ‘Billion Naira Dream’ crooner tweeted thus; “In 2010 they said I had no personality, in 2012 they said I didn’t have enough swag. 2013 they said I was too angry, 2015 they said I was too vulgar. 2018 I was too deep..but I am the greatest alive, your faves still have to write better, sing better and perform better than me.”

Nigerians on social media reacted heavily to his tweet, however, with positive comments this time around.

The skilled musician’s controversial tweet is coming barely a week after Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Mr. Eazi and Tekno who have huge fan base — home and abroad, featured on Beyoncé’s acclaimed new album, “The Lion King: The Gift.”

Similarly, Brymo’s tweet has been said to be a subtle diss targeted at Burna Boy, who has been claiming to be ‘African Giant’ and also released an album to solidify his ‘African Giant’ claim.
