Nigerian superstar, Davido may be releasing his second studio album for his fans very soon, if his manager’s recent tweet concerning the body of work is anything to go by.

Since Davido last dropped his debut album in 2012, he has promised to release this album several times, but hasn’t fulfilled his promise, instead, the ‘Aye’ singer dropped an EP, ‘Son of Mercy’ in 2016. However, his manager, Asa Asika, has seemingly confirmed that the album is ready for release.

Asa Asika confirms Davido’s album is almost ready for release

Speaking via twitter, Asika said he played the album to Spotify, a digital music service that provides access to songs and confirmed it is ‘almost go time’, but didn’t mention if the album was going to be exclusive to Spotify alone or not. “Just played the album for Spotify ! Almost go time!” he tweeted, without much details.

In a recent interview on Icebox, when Davido was asked if he was working on a new project, he answered: “Yes, I am about to drop my album… Everybody is waiting for the album. We got so much guest artists on the album. Quavo, the whole Migos, Baby on the album, Gunna, by the grace of God, I’m a have Justin Beiber on that too.”

So far in 2019, the 26 years old musician has scored himself an international hit single titled ‘Blow My Mind’, featuring American singer and dancer Chris Brown.

Davido’s latest album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ was released six years ago – two years after he started his music career officially. The Afropop and Afrobeat album was produced by top-notch music producers like, Maleek Berry, Spellz, Dokta Frabz, GospelOnDeBeatz, Shizzi and more, while it features guest appearances from Naeto C, Sina Rambo, B-Red, Kayswitch, Ice Prince and 2 Face Idibia.

His ‘Son of Mercy’ EP houses five tracks with collaborations from Nigerian singer, songwriter, sound engineer and music producer, Simi, and South African rapper Nasty C.
