Seun Kuti has aired his opinion on the recent attack on the immediate past Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, during his visit to the New Yam festival in Nuremberg, Germany.
The son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti, seemingly supported the attack staged on the senator by some members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, on August 17, 2019. Seun Kuti said he was not happy because he didn’t know the assault was going to happen, he ought to have joined them because he was in Europe then.
During the interview, he advised the IPOB to give Nigerians in diaspora open invitation to participate in their next assault on politicians. Sharing his views on Ekweremadu’s attack, he said; “What I would say is that next time any group of Nigerians are planning to beat up any Nigerian politician, and they don’t let me know about it, I will be very offended. That is the only thing I have to say about that because I was in Europe. The more hands, the merrier.”
The Grammy-nominated singer has always been outspoken about the Nigerian government, criticizing the FG’s policies and how politicians run the country. It is not coming as a surprise the controversial musician expressed his interest in witnessing (participating) in the next assault on Nigerian politicians, provided IPOB would hold another attack on any of them.
