The consul-general of Nigeria in Johannesburg, Godwin Adama has disclosed that no Nigerian was killed in the recent Xenophobic attacks that occured in Pretoria and Johannesburg in South Africa between August 28th and September 1st.
While speaking to Journalists on Tuesday, September 3rd, Godwin maintained that businesses owned by Nigerians were only attacked during the attack but disproved that some Nigerians were killed in the attacks.
Godwin Adama disclosed that several foreign-owned shops were targeted but Nigerians were greatly affected with over 50 vehicles in car marts owned by Nigerians vandalized, burnt ot stolen.
Adama said businesses owned by other foreign Nationals such as Indians, Pakistans, were also attacked by the hoodlums.
“No Nigerian has been killed, and the only thing that the criminals attacked were shops, because they may know that such shops belong to foreign nationals,” he said
