Few days after the killing of a Police inspector in Bekwarra local government, an Army Corporal attached to 707 Special Force Brigade in Markudi and six people have been arrested.
The Police inspector identified as Christopher Achong was reportedly killed on September 13th by an Army Corporal identified as Awotayo Femi and six others in Cross Rivers state.
It was gathered that the deceased was on patrol duty at the Anyikang axis of the Ogoja-Katsina Ala highway around 9:45am when his team stopped a commercial vehicle for search before he died.
According to Cross Rivers watch, the bus, a Ford Galaxy was said to be conveying passengers to Calabar and following a heated argument which degenerated to a physical confrontation, Inspector Achong was said to been fatally injured.
He later died at the General Hospital in Bekwarra which is operated by the Bakor Hospital consortium.
The passengers and driver were later arrested and alongside the bus, transferred to the State command at Diamond hill in Calabar where they are been questioned.
