Days after Police rescue 19 pregnant girls in the Ikotun Area of Lagos state, a baby factory has been uncovered by the Lagos State Police Command in the Isolo Area of Lagos State.
While reacting to this development, the Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Bala Elkana disclosed that the factory was detected after seven pregnant girls escaped from there on Monday night.
DSP Bala Elkana further revealed that five of the pregnant girls are natives of Imo state while the other two girls are natives of Abia and Rivers state respectively.
In other news, Lagos State Police Command has rescued 19 pregnant girls, between the age of 15 and 28, from a ‘baby factory’ at Ayanwale area of Ikotun.
Two female suspects – 40-year-old Happiness Ukwuoma and 54-year-old Sherifat Ipeya – involved in the scandal, were arrested.
The pregnant women were brought from Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Abia and Imo states. The Command has launched a manhunt of the principal suspect, Madam Oluchi from Mbano, Imo State.
