WITHIN NIGERIA believed that the issue of President’s second marriage started on Thursday, October 10 as a result of the heavy online presence of media post that President Buhari is set to marry the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq as the second wife but third woman was widely circulated on the social media especially gone viral on Facebook and Twitter.
Apart from the rumored Sadiya Umar Farouq as the new wife of President Buhari, WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the Nigeria President only have records of marrying two wives which is unknown to many Nigerians. Against the narratives and early beliefs that Aisha Buhari is the only wife of the President, he was married before he finally settled with her.

The claim that Buhari would marry a third wife was circulated by some online blogs and heavily distributed on social media platforms. Online blogs who featured the story all claimed that a close source (name withheld) in the Presidential Villa revealed to them that the marriage will take place on Friday, October 11, 2019.
“There are speculations that President Muhamadu Buhari is getting married to a second wife and the wedding is set to hold on Friday, October 11, 2019.
“According to sources in Aso Rock, President Buhari is getting married in a very quiet ceremony to Sadia Umar Farouq, the current Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management on Friday,” as claimed by online news website who published the news story.

However, the formed Special Assistant on Social Media to the former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri while reacting on this development tweeted on Thursday night that rumour of the second wife is true, although the date of the marriage is not known yet.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Femi Adesina has described the news as a deceptive manoeuvre by those who fabricated the news.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt from Tribune Online that the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Adesina debunked the news via a telephone conversation while trying to verify the news.
He disclosed that the news was far from the truth and that no such marriage is taking place at the Presidential Villa on Friday.
ADDITIONAL CONFIRMATIONS
Another top source in Aso Rock confirmed that there are no wedding preparations taking place in Aso Rock and the news is false and should be disregarded by Nigerians.
The source further said that it is impossible for a whole President of Nigeria to marry a second wife and it would be done quietly or there would not be preparations. Nigerians love banters and this should be treated as one.
Hours after the news of the wedding has gone viral, the supposed and rumoured second wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Sadiya Umar Farouq tweeted that she is currently out of the country and presently at the 70th session of the Executive Committee of the High Commissioner’s Programme ongoing in Geneva and the said programme is being organised by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as reliably gathered by WITHIN NIGERIA.
