Celebrity disk jockey and singer, DJ Cuppy, has stirred up controversy on Twitter with her controversial statement about cash giveaways.
The 26-year-old tweeted on Monday saying she does not give cash gifts to her fans because she feels it is a way of paying people to be your fans.
“To all my Cupcakes that complain I don’t do money giveaways, I hear you… BUT I’ve always felt like that was essentially paying people to be your fans?” she wrote.
Cuppy is the daughter of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola.
Despite having hit songs like ‘Abena’, ‘Gelato’ and others, critics have locked horns with DJ Cuppy’s fans on Twitter about her music and her statement.

DJ Cuppy deserves an Award for all the backlash she has collected over the years from this street

Mazi has been buying loyalty on this street with his giveaways, no wonder he felt attacked by that innocent tweet from DJ Cuppy who doesn't even know if he ever existed.#FreeCuppy .

The philanthropy of DJ Cuppy is rare and distinct. She doesn't do giveaways, yet sponsors several people to school. She participates in community services amidst many others. Her chosen career shouldn't be trashed! No! The trolling has to stop!
