Two Nigerians have been arrested by the South Bengal Frontiers troops of Border Security Force (BSF) in an attempt to enter India illegally.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the BSF South Bengal who shared the story on his Twitter stated that the troops made the arrest on Wednesday, October 30.
The statement reads thus;
“On the intervening night of 29/30 Oct’2019 vigilant troops of #BSF South Bengal Frontier apprehended 05 illegal intruders(including two Nigerian) and seized 76 cattle worth Rs 14,37,478/- & 440 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs 67,879/- while they were being smuggled to Bangladesh”.
However, a Nigerian man identified as Ifeanyi Pascal Obi also known as Alex has been arrested on Tuesday, October 29 by Police in Goa, western India for being in possession of drugs worth about Rs 3 crore(about $400,000) from him.
According to reports, the entire confiscated drugs in 2018 was of the same value with the seized drugs recovered from the burst.
