The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that for the anti-graft agency to commence probe against social media celebrities such as Ray Hushpuppi, Investor BJ, Baddy Osha, Opa6, Bayo Otunola and host of others, it would require petitions.
This was revealed by the anti-graft agency via his official twitter handle while reacting to suggestion by one of its followers that the agency should go after people mentioned by 9ice in the song.
In a song titled “living things” produced by Young John and sang by popular hip hop artiste, Abolore Akande a.k.a 9ice, the popular artiste listed names of social media celebrities and influentials which has generated a lot of controversy as some artistes and Nigerians believe that the song promotes online scams.
However, Mompha’s arrest by EFCC has been a trending topic on social media with many users reacting to his arrest positively and negatively.
But many of the Mompha’s friends have kept quiet on social media since his arrest last Friday. One his close friends, sex therapist, Jaruma, who got a ₦3 million PUSH gift from Mompha deleted his video from her page,a video in which she and her aunt were seen counting wads of dollars after Nigerian Dubai-based big boy, Mompha sent her newborn babies ₦3 million.
