It was a sad and tragic moment as a 35-year-old radio host who helped to spread the gospel in the fight against Ebola was found stabbed to death at his home in northeast Democratic Republic of Congo.
The radio host identified as Papy Mumbere Mahamba lived in the town of Lwemba in the troubled Ituri region before his death.
The cause of the killing is yet unknown but it was learnt that his wife survived severe wounds inflicted on her by assailants before burning down their home late Saturday as disclosed by newsmen.
A journalist who worked at Radio Lwemba, the same local radio station the deceased worked disclosed that his colleague Papy Mumbere Mahamba was killed at his home by unknown attackers who stabbed him to death.
According to AFP, Professor Steve Ahuka, national coordinator of the fight against Ebola and General Robert Yav, the commander of Congolese army forces in the Ituri town of Mambasa also confirmed the death of the journalist.
