5 days after the directive issued by the Federal Government that fuel supply to areas within 20 kilometres to the nation’s borders should be suspended, residents of border communities in Ogun, Lagos, Adamawa, Katsina and Sokoto states have started groaning over the visible effects of the directive.
WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the Nigeria Customs Service has announced that the Federal Government directed that petroleum products should not be supplied to fuel stations within 20km of the borders.
According to reports gathered in Ogun, Lagos, Adamawa, Katsina, and Sokoto states, the directive of the federal government issued through the Nigeria Customs Service had triggered fuel scarcity and hike in the prices of petroleum products.
