The University of Nigeria has cancelled the venue for conference on witchcraft, after its earlier approval for the use of its Energy Centre for the academic conference on witchcraft scheduled to hold next week.
The director of the centre notified the conference organisers of the development, amidst opposition by Christian students and the Christian Association of Nigeria against the conference.
Within the school campus, several religious groups protested against the conference.
The conference is the brainchild of the B.I.C Ijomah Centre for Policy and Research. It is a pure academic exercise, not a real meeting of witches and wizards, the centre said, shocked by the uninformed reaction of Christian students and CAN.
Despite the cancellation of the booked venue for their witchcraft conference, the organisers said they are marching ahead and will announce a new venue soon.
Recall that weeks ago, a Nigerian intercessor, Adaeze Ekwueme, called on JESUS’ supernatural intervention as University of Nigeria (UNN), Nsukka, was set to host the conference on witchcraft between November 26 and November 27, 2019.
The conference, which has the theme “Witchcraft: Meaning, factors and practices”, is convened by the Professor B.I.C Ijomah Centre for Policy and Research in UNN.
Sharing the handbill on Facebook, the intercessor, proclaimed that such gathering will not be allowed to hold in Enugu state, and that they will die before the gathering.
