A Nigerian woman identified as Folake Adebola who recently converted to a Muslim has sparked controversy on social media after she raised alarm about religion discrimination that was experienced at her work place in Texas, United State.

Adebola, 22, who works with Chicken Express restaurant in Fort Worth, Texa, said she converted to Islam in August and was hired in October. According to her, in the hand book of the restaurant they say they have “equal opportunity for every religion” so she felt comfortable working there and she told the manager about being a Muslim, awaiting for the arrival of her hijabs and she would start wearing a Hijab soon.

However, when she started wearing Hijab, she said she was not welcomed by her co-workers.

Adebola revealed that she felt “disrespected” when her manager and her co-workers at the restaurant asked her to take off her hijab.
