The Twitter community is buzzing with the new initiative of the social media network giant. Twitter has also included stories like Facebook and Instagram.
Stories feature have been with us for quite some time now, and Twitter is joining the likes of Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Snapchat as they began testing, Fleets, a platform where you can upload photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours.
Unlike normal tweets, Fleets do not receive retweets, likes or public replies. Users can only react or respond to them with direct messages, just like Instagram’s Stories feature.
Fleets will not appear on people’s Twitter timelines like regular tweets. Instead, they can be viewed by tapping on someone’s avatar.
A lot of users have since been criticizing the feature, as they see the social media platform losing its uniqueness as a result. But what is unclear now is if the thread function of Twitter will still be working as it added a new function.
There had been a clamour for the addition of the edit button to post, which Twitter has turned down as well. In this instance, if there are errors in a post, there is no chance for correction than to delete and rewrite.
With the 24-hour feature story, Twitter, Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram are all looking the same.
See some of their reactions below.

You want an edit button but say it can't be done as people will abuse it, do people abuse the edit function on Facebook? Maybe when you edit your tweet it'll have an 'edit history' and let people see the history of the tweet#RIPTwitter pic.twitter.com/3I7ryqP4XK
