Following the removal of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano, Nigerians have reacted in shock to the dethronement.

This was contained in a statement released by the State Secretary to the Government, Usman Alhaji on Monday, March 9.

According to the statement, it revealed that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has been dethroned. The state secretary cited Sanusi’s disrespect to lawful instructions from the government as a reason for his dethronement. He added that a replacement will soon be announced.

Reacting to the dethronement, Nigerians who have been following the crisis between Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II have expressed their thoughts on it.

Some Nigerians opined that Ganduje was allegedly caught receiving bribes and as such he has no moral justification to dethrone Sanusi.
