Suspected herdsmen kill former governorship aspirant in Rivers state

Unknown gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have reportedly killed a former governorship aspirant on the platform of  People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State identified as Soalabo West after he was kidnapped at his poultry farm at Aluu back of OPM in Port Harcourt on March 12.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that his family was comtacted by the suspected herdsmen and demanded a N30 million ransom barely two days after he was abducted.

According to report, the demand was reviewed downward to N2.5 million but he was eventually killed by his captors after they allegedly failed to get the sum.

Corpse of the deceased who is from Abonema in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State was discovered at a bush along Eleka pipeline, Port Harcourt and pictorial evidence revealed he was brutally killed.

The decomposing corpse of the popular lawyer and promoter of small businesses in Port Harcourt was found to have bullet wounds and matchet cuts.

The elder brother of the deceased, Emmanuel said;

“This is shocking to us. We dont know why they should kill our brother this way. Our entire family has been thrown into mourning. We just hope that the police will arrest all those involved in the killing of our brother.”
