It is no longer news that the novel coronavirus continues to spread and with it; fear and death toll increases. As Nigeria confirms it 10th case of the deadly virus, some states in the country has taken precautionary measures in order to contain the spread of the pandemic.
Lagos state Government was the first state to take such measures by issuing directives to ban social and religious gatherings. In the light of that, earlier today, officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEMA) shut down venue of a surprise party as they begin the enforcement on the ban placed on public gathering by the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Apparently, the Lagos State Government is doing all it can to keep the residents safe from this virus as it did not just shutdown the party but also sealed off the venue, Regency and Imperial halls at the Ikeja Central Business district for going contrary to the directives of the State government.
The Lagos state government has since revised its ban on social gathering from 50 people to 20 people following the 10 new cases of Covid-19 making it a total off 22 confirmed cases in Nigeria.
