Nigerian government, on Monday, announced the closure of all land borders for four weeks.
Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of presidential task force on COVID-19, disclosed this on Monday evening.
He also announced that weekly federal executive council will be suspended till further notice.
“The council of state meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday has also been postponed,” Mustapha added.
This is following the increase in number of cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
The cases in Nigeria have been on the rise in the past few days as 36 persons have tested positive for COVID-19.
Also the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed the death of a 67-year-old man who returned to the country following medical treatment in the United Kingdom, UK.
The victim’s identity was revealed to be a former Managing Director of Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Suleiman Achimugu.
