The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday said no punishment will be meted out on Prof. Alakija Salami, a Senior Consultant in the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) for alleged unethical conducts.

Dr Alihu Adebara, NCDC Team Lead to Kwara State said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin, on Thursday.

Adebara said the agency has left the case to the state government to handle.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Salami was suspended for alleged ‘unethical conducts and concealing’ the travel history and eventual release of the corpse of a suspected COVID-19 patient who died in UITH.
